The 1436H is a Type 12 mild steel junction box measuring 9.50 x 6.25 x 3.00 in, part of the Standard Depth (1436) range of the 1436/1438 Series. It serves as an instrument enclosure, electrical junction box or terminal wiring enclosure, providing a degree of protection from falling dirt, dust, oil and water.
The enclosure is 9.50 in H x 6.25 in W x 3.00 in D (241 x 159 x 76 mm) and is formed from 16 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. Welded brackets provide for mounting, giving a 10.50 in overall height and Ø0.25 in holes on 10.00 in by 5.38 in centres. Overall depth with the cover is 3.16 in.
The lift-off cover, 9.87 x 6.62 in, is supported on internal hinges so it swings clear while you work, and closes with captive, plated steel screws into threaded, sealed wells. A permanently secured oil resistant gasket seals the cover. The door opening is 9.00 in high and 5.75 in wide. Bonding and grounding studs are provided on the cover and enclosure respectively.
Standards: the 1436H is rated UL 508A Type 12 and 13 and CSA Type 12 and 13, and complies with NEMA Type 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP54. The phosphatized cover and enclosure carry an ANSI 61 gray recoatable powder coating. It ships in a box at 5 lbs (2.27 kg).
