Hammond 1427NCGPG42B PG42 Black Nylon Cordgrip, 32-38 mm Cable

The 1427NCGPG42B is a PG42 black (RAL 9005) nylon cordgrip for very large cable, from 32 mm (1.26 in) to 38 mm (1.50 in) in diameter. It creates a liquid-tight, strain-relieved entry where heavy cable enters or leaves an enclosure, a frequent requirement for electricians and OEM panel designers.

Inside, an NBR (nitrile rubber) seal closes around the cable, and strain relief elements tighten in a circular sequence on the sealing ring to hold it without twisting or damaging the jacket. The part comes with a nylon locknut and an EPDM o-ring.

The PG42 size requires a 55 mm (2.17 in) mounting hole. Outer length (L) is 49 mm (1.93 in), with a 13 mm (0.51 in) inner thread length (T). Hammond's torque guide for PG42 lists 9-12 N-m on the sealing nut and 8-10 N-m on the locknut; actual values can vary depending on the application. Shipping weight is 0.22 lbs (0.10 kg).

The 1427NCG series offers IP68 protection and is designed to meet NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13. The 1427NCGPG42B is UL listed with a UL94 V-2 flammability rating and is RoHS and REACH compliant. It is rated -40°C to 100°C static (up to 120° instantaneous) and -20°C to 80°C dynamic (up to 100° instantaneous).
