Hammond 1427NCGPG48B PG48 Black Nylon Cordgrip, 37-44 mm Cable Range

The 1427NCGPG48B is the largest PG size in the 1427NCG nylon cordgrip range: a PG48 liquid-tight gland in black (RAL 9005) for cable from 37 mm (1.46 in) to 44 mm (1.73 in) in diameter. Panel builders and electricians use it to seal and restrain heavy cable where it enters or leaves an enclosure.

The nylon body holds an NBR (nitrile rubber) seal, and the strain relief elements tighten in a circular sequence on the sealing ring so the cable is held without twisting or damaging it. A nylon locknut and an EPDM o-ring are included.

Installation requires a 60 mm (2.36 in) mounting hole. The gland has an outer length (L) of 49 mm (1.93 in) and a 14 mm (0.55 in) inner thread length (T). Hammond's PG48 torque guide calls for 11-13 N-m on the sealing nut and 8-10 N-m on the locknut, noting that actual values can vary depending on the application. Shipping weight is 0.24 lbs (0.11 kg).

The series provides IP68 protection and is designed to meet NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13. The 1427NCGPG48B is UL listed with a UL94 V-2 flammability rating and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Rated operating temperatures are -40°C to 100°C static (up to 120° instantaneous) and -20°C to 80°C dynamic (up to 100° instantaneous).
