Hammond 1427BCGPG42 38 mm Cable PG42 Nickel Plated Brass Cordgrip, 32

The 1427BCGPG42 is a PG42 liquid-tight cordgrip in nickel plated brass, built to seal and strain-relieve large cable where it enters or leaves an enclosure. It is intended for electricians, panel builders and OEM engineers handling heavy-gauge cable runs.

This size seals cable from 32 mm (1.26 in) to 38 mm (1.50 in) in diameter. A large opening with an NBR (nitrile rubber) seal accepts a wide range of cable diameters, and the strain relief elements tighten in a circular sequence on the sealing ring to grip the cable without twisting or damaging it. Select the cordgrip with the smallest maximum diameter that fits.

The 1427BCGPG42 installs in a 55 mm (2.17 in) mounting hole. Outer length (L) is 37 mm (1.46 in) and inner thread length (T) is 9 mm (0.35 in). A locknut and EPDM o-ring are included. Guide torque for PG42 is 18–20 N-m on the sealing nut and 15–19 N-m on the locknut; actual values can vary depending on the application.

The series is designed to meet NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13 with IP68 protection and is UL listed, with a -40C to +100C working temperature and temporary heat resistance up to 120C. RoHS and REACH compliant; bagged at 0.62 lbs (0.28 kg).
