Hammond 1421NP100 Zinc Plated 10-32 Clip Nuts, 100-Pack Jar

The 1421NP100 is a 100-piece package of 10-32 rack rail clip nuts supplied in a resealable plastic jar. Also known as speed nuts, Tinnerman nuts or U-style clip nuts, they snap directly onto non-threaded round-hole or square-hole rack rails to create a secure 10-32 threaded mounting point — a fast alternative to installing individual cage nuts. The 100-pack size suits installers, maintenance departments and OEM production runs.

Each clip nut is formed from SAE 1050-1065 spring steel, heat treated by austempering to a hardness of HRC 38-42 for consistent spring tension and long-term retention. The 1421NP100 clip nuts are finished in zinc plating (CR3); the same clip nut is offered with a black oxide finish under part number 1421N100.

The spring steel body grips rail material from 0.069 to 0.079 inches thick, and installation requires no special tools, which speeds up equipment additions, moves and replacements compared with traditional cage nut installations. Recommended torque is 31.4 inch-lbs +/- 20%. Maximum load rating will vary depending on rail mounting and the cabinet load rating.

Typical applications include telecommunications and networking installations, industrial control cabinets with non-threaded mounting rails, and mounting switches, patch panels, shelves and cable management accessories.
