Hammond 1421NP25 25-Pack 10-32 Zinc Plated Rack Clip Nuts

The 1421NP25 is a 25-piece pack of 10-32 rack rail clip nuts in a zinc-plated (CR3) finish, intended for IT and AV integrators, telecom technicians, electricians, maintenance teams and OEM engineers who need to create threaded 10-32 mounting points in non-threaded rack rails. Also known as speed nuts, Tinnerman nuts, U nuts or J nuts, clip nuts snap directly onto the rail so equipment can be fastened with standard 10-32 screws.

Clip nuts from the 1421N Series are made from heat-treated SAE 1050-1065 spring steel, austempered for consistent spring tension and long-term retention, with a hardness of HRC 38-42. The spring steel body grips rail material from 0.069 to 0.079 inches thick, and the recommended installation torque is 31.4 inch-lbs +/- 20%. Maximum load rating will vary depending on rail mounting and the cabinet load rating.

Because they clip on by hand, 1421NP25 clip nuts install without special tools, making equipment additions, moves and replacements faster than traditional cage nut installations. They work on both non-threaded round-hole and non-threaded square-hole rails, and suit switches, patch panels, shelves and cable management accessories. For standard square-hole rails where a traditional cage nut is preferred, the CAGNUT or CAGKIT Series is the better choice; if matching rack screws are also needed, the CLPKIT Series combo packs include both.
