Hammond 1421N25 25-Pack 10-32 Black Oxide Rack Clip Nuts

The 1421N25 is a 25-piece package of 10-32 rack rail clip nuts in a black oxide finish, supplied in a clam shell pack. Also known as speed nuts, Tinnerman nuts or U-style clip nuts, they snap directly onto non-threaded round-hole or square-hole rack rails to create a 10-32 threaded mounting point, making them a fast alternative to traditional cage nuts for IT, AV, networking, telecom and industrial control installers.

Each clip nut is made from heat-treated SAE 1050-1065 spring steel, austempered for consistent spring tension and long-term retention, with a hardness of HRC 38-42. The spring steel body grips rail material from 0.069 to 0.079 inches thick, so the nut stays captive during equipment moves, additions and replacements. The recommended torque specification is 31.4 inch-lbs +/- 20%. Maximum load rating will vary depending on rail mounting and cabinet load rating.

Because the clip nuts install without special tools, the 1421N25 pack is well suited to service, maintenance and retrofit work, as well as stocking installer hardware kits. The 10-32 thread matches a wide range of rack-mounted equipment, including switches, patch panels, shelves and cable management accessories.

The 1421N25 is RoHS and REACH compliant, and the 1421N Series is manufactured in North America within an ISO 9001 certified facility. For standard square-hole rack rails where a traditional cage nut is preferred, the CAGNUT Series or CAGKIT Series may be a better choice.
