Hammond 1421N250 250-Pack 10-32 Black Oxide Rack Clip Nuts

The 1421N250 is a 250-piece package of 10-32 rack rail clip nuts in a black oxide finish, supplied in a resealable plastic jar. Also known as speed nuts, Tinnerman nuts or U-nuts, these clips snap directly onto non-threaded rack rails to create a 10-32 threaded mounting point — a faster alternative to installing traditional cage nuts. The bulk count suits installers, maintenance departments and OEM production runs.

Each clip nut is made from heat-treated SAE 1050-1065 spring steel, austempered for consistent spring tension and long-term retention, with a hardness of HRC 38-42. The spring steel body grips rail material from 0.069 to 0.079 inches thick, so the nuts stay captive and are reusable through equipment moves and replacements. The recommended torque specification is 31.4 inch-lbs +/- 20%.

Because they work on both non-threaded round-hole and non-threaded square-hole rails, 1421N250 clip nuts are used across telecommunications, networking and industrial control installations for mounting switches, patch panels, shelves and cable management accessories.
