Hammond 1412J 4x4x2 Inch 20 Gauge Grey Steel Utility Case

The 1412J is the smallest steel case in the 1411-1412 utility enclosure family, a square 4 in x 4 in x 2 in (102 mm x 102 mm x 51 mm) box in ASA 61 grey. Its compact, low profile suits small circuit boards, a handful of switches or a junction of wires where a steel housing is preferred over aluminum.

Construction is 20 gauge steel: the bottom and cover are formed from 0.036 in (0.91 mm) steel, and the part is listed as steel with aluminum end panels. The steel is finished in ASA 61 grey baked powder paint applied inside and out to prevent rust. Each purchased assembly includes the bottom, the cover and four cover screws, and replacement 6-32 x 1/4 in plated self-tapping screws are available as 1421J6 in packs of six.

The drawing shows outside dimensions of 101.60 mm [4.00 in] square by 50.80 mm [2.00 in] high, with an inner box of 99.77 mm [3.93 in] long, 97.16 mm [3.83 in] wide and 48.97 mm [1.93 in] high - useful clearance figures when planning a board or component layout.

The 1412J ships shrink wrapped at 0.74 lbs (0.34 kg).
