The 1182R60 is a 1000 VA toroid power transformer with two 60 V secondaries. Connected in series it is rated 120V C.T. @ 8.3A; in parallel it is rated 60V @ 16.7A. Engineers building 60 V or 120 V center-tapped supplies at the 1 kVA level can run it from 117 VAC or 234 VAC.
The drawing shows each secondary as 60V @ 8.30 A, with #16 TEW primary leads and #12 TEW secondary leads brought out 8"-9" and stripped 0.5" minimum. Regulation is 2.80% (dimension reference L). The open-center toroid is supplied with two 0.093" x 4.75" OD rubber washers, a 16GA x 4.30" OD steel mounting washer and a 3/8-16 bolt 3.50" long with lock washer and hex nut. Shipping weight is 16.5 lbs (7.48 kg).
On compliance, the 1182 family carries UL recognition to UL 5085-1 and UL 5085-2 under file #E207860 and CSA certification to C22.2 #66.1-6 and #66.2-6 under file #209651, and is self-declared as evaluated to applicable sections of IEC/EN61558-1 and IEC/EN61558-2-4. The dual primary accepts 117 VAC (parallel connection) or 234 VAC (series connection) at 50/60 Hz, with a connection sheet included. Units are designed to run with every winding engaged, in series or parallel, or as an autotransformer. Plan the supply protection for toroidal inrush: the magnetizing current at energization is limited only by the primary's low DC resistance, so a slow-blow fuse, time-delayed breaker or soft-start is recommended.
