Hammond 1182R117P 1000 VA Potted-Center Toroid, 234V CT or 117V Output

The 1182R117P is the potted-center variant of the 1000 VA, 117 V secondary toroid in the 1182 series. Its secondaries deliver 234V C.T. @ 4.27A in series or 117V @ 8.5A in parallel, from a dual 117 V primary that accepts 117 VAC or 234 VAC.

The series ordering table lists this part with a potted toroid center, a dual secondary, 3.00% regulation and dimension reference L; the part page shows regulation rounded to 3%. Shipping weight is 16.5 lbs (7.48 kg). Electrically it matches the open-center 1182R117, so choose between the two by the center construction your mounting method calls for. As with the rest of the series, the flexible leads are a minimum of 8" long.

The dual primary accepts 117 VAC (parallel connection) or 234 VAC (series connection) at 50/60 Hz, with a connection sheet included. Units are designed to run with every winding engaged, in series or parallel, or as an autotransformer. Plan the supply protection for toroidal inrush: the magnetizing current at energization is limited only by the primary's low DC resistance, so a slow-blow fuse, time-delayed breaker or soft-start is recommended.
