Hammond 106C 50k:1500 Ohm CT Epoxy Potted Input Transformer

The 106C is a miniature epoxy-potted input audio transformer from the 106 Series, with a 50000 ohm primary and a 1500 ohm center-tapped secondary. It mounts on a P.C. board and fits designers interfacing a high-impedance source into a lower-impedance, balanced input.

The center-tapped secondary is bifilar wound for balanced resistive and capacitive characteristics. Rugged black epoxy potting produces a completely sealed unit that withstands severe environmental conditions, including those of MIL-T-27 (Grade 5, Class S). Pins are square, 0.025 in square typical, and unused connections have no pin. According to the 106C drawing the part weighs 1.44 oz and has a maximum operating altitude of 50,000 ft.

The series table rates the 106C for 10 mW output with 1 dB insertion loss and a -1 dB low frequency roll-off at 60 Hz. Maximum primary DC is 0 mA. DC resistance is 2400 ohms primary and 52 ohms secondary, +/- 15%. The drawing gives these typical characteristics:
