Hammond 106J 10K to 2K CT Ohm Interstage Audio Transformer

The 106J is a 106 Series miniature interstage audio transformer for designers stepping a high-impedance stage down into a lower-impedance, centre-tapped load. Its nominal primary impedance is 10000 ohms and its secondary is 2000 ohms with a centre tap, all in a sealed package that solders straight onto a PC board.

Rated output is 150 mW with 1 dB insertion loss, and the -1 dB low frequency roll-off sits at 215 Hz. The primary is rated for a maximum of 6.5 mA DC. Measured DC resistance is 700 ohms on the primary and 89 ohms on the secondary (+/- 15%), which helps when you are sizing supply headroom for the driving stage.

Construction is rugged black epoxy potting that produces a completely sealed unit able to withstand severe environmental conditions, including those of MIL-T-27 (Grade 5, Class S). Centre-tapped windings use a bifilar technique for balanced resistive and capacitive characteristics, and the series carries a peak working voltage rating of 200V.

It mounts directly to a printed circuit board on square pins (0.025" square typical); where a connection is not used, no pin exists. It is REACH and RoHS compliant. The 106J is drawn as Figure 7 in the series mechanical information and ships at 0.09 lbs (0.04 kg).
