Hammond RZ0317C 222x146x55 mm Beige Abs IP65 Enclosure, Clear Lid

The RZ0317C is the clear-lid version of a beige ABS water-tight RZ Series enclosure. The ABS base is paired with a clear polycarbonate lid, so the contents stay visible while the gasketed box is designed to meet IP65. It suits OEM and electronics builders housing a PCB or DIN rail mounted components, with ABS suggested for indoor use.

It uses the largest footprint in the RZ ordering table, 222 x 146 mm, at a 55 mm depth, accepting a PCB of up to 213.87 x 137.87 mm; the lid is secured with six screws. Overall size is 8.74 in x 5.75 in x 2.17 in (222 mm x 146 mm x 55 mm); the drawing gives an inside height of 49.00 mm [1.93 in] and an inside width of 138.72 mm [5.46 in].

The lid uses a gasketed, two-piece tongue and groove construction that protects against the entry of oil, dust and water. Lid screws are self-captivating: the lid holes are threaded the first time the screws are installed. For wall mounting, the through box-blind hole construction places the mounting holes outside the gasket perimeter, so fixing the box to a wall does not breach the seal.

The purchased assembly includes the box, lid, string gasket, 4 PCB screws and 6 lid screws; PCB bosses accept M3 self-tapping screws and the recommended lid screw torque is 43-50 ozf.in (30-35 cN.m). The ABS material carries a UL94 HB flame rating with a temperature range of -30 °C to +80 °C, and the part is RoHS and REACH compliant. Replacement gaskets are sold as RZ0317GASKET (2-pack).
