Hammond RZ0256 82x80x55 mm IP65 Polycarbonate Enclosure

The RZ0256 is a near-square RZ Series water-tight enclosure measuring 3.23 in x 3.15 in x 2.17 in (82 mm x 80 mm x 55 mm). Molded in light gray polycarbonate, it is a practical housing for small controllers, junction electronics and sensor boards where a sealed, compact box is required and outdoor use is anticipated.

The polycarbonate specification for the series includes a UL94 V-2 flammability rating, RAL7035 colour and a -40 °C to +130 °C temperature range, with a smooth surface finish. The lid seals with a two-piece tongue & groove gasket that protects against oil, dust and water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP65. Lid screws are self-captivating, and corrosion resistant hardware is used in assembly.

The drawing gives 49.00 mm [1.93 in] of inside height and 72.72 mm [2.86 in] inside width. Internal mounting points accept M3 self-tapping screws and are designed for P.C. boards up to 73.88 mm x 71.88 mm or DIN rail mounted components. The through box-blind hole construction places the wall-mounting holes outside the gasket perimeter, so mounting does not compromise the seal.

Supplied in a bag at 0.31 lbs (0.14 kg), the RZ0256 includes the box, lid, string gasket, 4 PCB screws and 4 lid screws. Recommended torque is (43-50) ozf.in / (30-35) cN.m, and the replacement gasket is RZ0366GASKET. REACH and RoHS compliant; UPC 623980404820. A clear-lid version is RZ0256C.
