The RZ0218 is one of the two largest RZ Series water-tight enclosures, measuring 8.74 in x 5.75 in x 2.17 in (222 mm x 146 mm x 55 mm). It offers the biggest board area in the series at a low 55 mm profile, well suited to large control boards, panel electronics and multi-channel I/O that must stay sealed.
Light gray RAL7035 polycarbonate with a smooth surface gives a UL94 V-2 rating and a -40 °C to +130 °C temperature range, and the series suggests polycarbonate for outdoor use. The lid is gasketed with two-piece tongue & groove construction to keep out oil, dust and water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP65. On this size the lid is secured with six self-captivating lid screws, and all hardware is corrosion resistant.
The drawing lists 49.00 mm [1.93 in] of inside height and 138.72 mm [5.46 in] of inside width. P.C. boards up to 213.87 mm x 137.87 mm fit on internal mounting points that accept M3 self-tapping screws; these points are also designed for DIN rail mounted components. Wall-mounting holes sit outside the gasket perimeter.
RZ0218 is bagged at 1.08 lbs (0.49 kg), including the box, lid, string gasket, 4 PCB screws and 6 lid screws. Recommended torque is (43-50) ozf.in / (30-35) cN.m. Replacement gasket: RZ0317GASKET. REACH and RoHS compliant; UPC 623980404899. Clear lid: RZ0218C. Deeper version: RZ0232.
