Hammond RSVS1918BK1 2U 18-Inch Vented Sliding Rack Shelf, 130 lb

The RSVS1918BK1 is a 2U vented sliding rack shelf built for IT, telecom, AV and industrial teams who need to place non-rackmount equipment in a standard 4-post rack or cabinet and still reach it easily. Part of the RSUS Series of sliding adjustable-depth steel rack shelves, this vented version improves airflow around heat-generating devices such as non-rackmount servers, UPS systems, network gear and test instruments.

Construction is 16-gauge mild steel with a black textured powder coat finish that is GREENGUARD Gold Certified, TSCA and RoHS compliant. The shelf platform measures 16.64 in (423 mm) wide by 18.12 in (460 mm) deep with a 1.50 in (38 mm) shelf height, while overall dimensions are 18.89 in (480 mm) wide by 2.68 in (68 mm) high. Rated weight capacity is 130 lbs (59 kg) per the series table; the part drawing lists a maximum weight of 120 lb. Shipping weight is 14 lbs (6.35 kg).

Two heavy-duty ball-bearing slides give 18.00 in (457 mm) of full travel so equipment can be pulled clear of the rack for service, and an integrated stop mechanism prevents the shelf from accidentally pulling completely out. The slides are tested to BIFMA standards for a minimum of 55,000 cycles.

RSVS1918BK1 mounts to two pairs of rails in a 4-post rack or cabinet, with adjustable mounting depth listed as 6.00 in (152 mm) to 20.00 in (508 mm) in the series table and 8 in to 20 in on the part drawing. The shelf occupies 2U but requires 3U of mounting space, and is not designed for product mounting directly above or below. Some assembly is required.
