Hammond RP1450C 220 x 165 x 60 mm Polycarbonate Box, Clear Lid

The RP1450C is the clear lid version of the 220 x 165 x 60 mm (8.66 x 6.50 x 2.36 in) polycarbonate RP enclosure. A transparent cover lets you read displays or status LEDs without opening the box, which is useful for panel builders, test engineers and anyone monitoring equipment in dusty or wet locations.

Hammond's drawing describes this model as Polycarbonate with Clear Lid, UL94-V2. The part page lists the colour as Light Gray, while the series ordering table places it in the Off-White Polycarbonate column. Sealing is by a two piece tongue & groove lid and a rubber string gasket that is installed in the field, for an IP65 rating.

The interior measures 211.37 x 156.37 x 53.50 mm (8.32 x 6.16 x 2.11 in). A P.C. board up to 205 x 150 mm can be fixed to posts that accept M3 self-tapping screws, and internal DIN rail mounting tabs are a series feature where the size allows. Four self captivating M3.5 stainless lid screws thread into corrosion resistant bushings; recommended torque is 30-35 cN.m.

The RP1450C is bagged with box, lid, string gasket, four PCB screws and four lid screws and has a 1.11 lbs (0.50 kg) shipping weight. RoHS and REACH compliant. Accessories for this size include STC146 and STA146 inner panels and the RP145GASKET 2-pack. Hammond notes that some chemicals, including acetone, ketones, thread locking compounds and cutting fluids, can damage or weaken plastic.
