The RP1175 is a water-tight ABS enclosure from the RP Series, sized at 6.54 in (166 mm) long, 3.43 in (87 mm) wide and 2.17 in (55 mm) deep, with a opaque lid. It is the 55 mm-deep size on the long, narrow 166 x 87 mm footprint, and is ideally suited for mounting printed circuit boards or components in equipment that has to keep out oil, dust and water.
The body is general purpose ABS with a UL94 HB flame rating, in light gray. Its opaque lid includes a smooth recessed area for a membrane, label or silkscreen, giving a clean surface for front-panel graphics. The two-piece "tongue & groove" lid is gasketed and the enclosure is designed to meet IP 65. The rubber string gasket is included and must be field installed.
Inside, the drawing gives 158.71 mm [6.25 in] of length, 78.71 mm [3.10 in] of width and 49.90 mm [1.96 in] of height. Posts in both the box and the lid accept M3 self-tapping screws, and the maximum PC board size is 157 x 77 mm. Optional inner panels are available in 3 mm black ABS (STC117) or 1 mm metal (STA117) for mounting components on a plate.
The lid fastens with self-captivating M3.5 stainless steel machine screws threaded into corrosion-resistant bushings, which suits repeated assembly and disassembly; recommended torque is 43-50 ozf.in (30-35 cN.m). Each RP1175 ships as an assembly of box, lid, string gasket, 4 PCB screws and 4 lid screws, packed in a bag at a shipping weight of 0.48 lbs (0.22 kg). It is RoHS and REACH compliant.
