Hammond RP1040C 95x50x50mm IP65 Polycarbonate Enclosure, Clear Lid

The RP1040C is a polycarbonate water-tight enclosure with a clear lid, part of the RP Series. It is the 50 mm deep version of the 95 x 50 mm footprint, giving a narrow board extra headroom; the transparent lid makes it well suited to builds where the contents need to stay visible, for OEM engineers, integrators and electronics builders mounting printed circuit boards or components.

Polycarbonate gives this model a UL94 V-2 flame rating (the drawing lists it as Polycarbonate Off-White with Clear Lid, UL94-V2). A two piece tongue & groove lid with a field-installed rubber gasket is designed to meet IP65, protecting against oil, dust and water.

Nominal size is 3.74 in x 1.97 in x 1.97 in (95 x 50 x 50 mm). Inside, the drawing gives 44.50 mm [1.75 in] of height and 42.70 mm [1.68 in] of width, and that is 10 mm more depth than the 40 mm deep model on the same footprint. PC board mounting posts accept M3 self-tapping screws and take a board up to 87 mm long and 41.5 mm wide.

The lid is secured with M3.5-0.6 x 10mm self-captivating screws threaded into corrosion resistant bushings for repeated assembly and disassembly; recommended torque is 43-50 ozf.in (30-35 cN.m). Each RP1040C ships in a bag with the box, lid, string gasket, 4 PCB screws and 4 lid screws. Optional inner panels are STC104 (ABS, 3mm) and STA104 (metal, 1mm), and RP103GASKET is the replacement EPDM gasket 2-pack. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant.
