The RMCFLANGE1U is a replacement rack mount kit for 1U RMC Series rack mount aluminum instrument enclosures, supplied as a pair of mounting flanges. It is for technicians and OEM builders who need to replace lost or damaged rack ears, or who want to convert a desktop RMC enclosure back to 19 in rack mounting.
The 1U size covers the slimmest enclosures in the range, including the 8.50 in (216 mm) wide half-width RMCS9018BK1/RMCV9018BK1 as well as the 17.00 in (432 mm) wide models in 8.00 in and 13.00 in depths. Each of these enclosures has a usable mounting height of 1.75 in (44 mm), the 1U rack space the flanges are made for.
The flanges are aluminum with a black finish. The part drawing shows an overall height of 44.45 mm [1.75 in] and a material thickness of 3.18 mm [.13 in], consistent with the 0.125 in (3.2 mm) rack mount bracket thickness listed for the series, with a 25.40 mm [1.00 in] mounting leg.
RMC enclosures can be used with or without rack mounting brackets, so the flanges can be removed for bench or desktop use and refitted later. The series assembly instructions call for #10-32 x 1/2 in pan head screws through the mounting brackets and side panels. The kit ships in a bag with a shipping weight of 0.17 lbs (0.08 kg), and it is RoHS and REACH compliant.
