Hammond RM5U28BKSP 5U x 28" Replacement Side Panel, Black

The RM5U28BKSP is a single replacement side panel for 5U RM series rack-mount aluminum instrument enclosures that are 28.00 in (711 mm) deep. In the RM ordering table it is the 5U entry in the 28.00 in depth row of replacement side panels, the same depth as the RM5U1928SBK and RM5U1928VBK enclosures. Maintenance teams and OEM builders use it to replace a damaged side, or to keep a spare that can be drilled for connectors or mounting points.

It is the longest 5U side panel at 711.18 mm [27.999 in], with 6 threaded 10-32 UNF-2B holes per side and 6 Ø4.78 mm [Ø0.188 in] holes on the drawing.

The RM series specification describes the side panels as extruded aluminum, 0.125 in (3.2 mm) thick, and the enclosures as finished in rugged textured black powder coat; the part description reads "RM5U x 28" SIDE PANEL BLACK". The drawing shows a panel height of 221.49 mm [8.720 in] for the 5U height, threaded holes called out as 6 X Ø4.20 mm [Ø0.165 in], both sides, 10-32 UNF-2B thru, and 4 X Ø4.00 mm [Ø0.157 in] thru holes countersunk Ø7.50 mm [Ø0.295 in] x 82.0°. RM side panels are interchangeable left to right, and are sold individually.

The RM5U28BKSP is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships at 3.2 lbs (1.45 kg), and is identified by UPC 623980108933 and UNSPSC 43201602. As with other powder-coated RM parts, panels are not grounded to the frame; the grounding method is to be determined by the customer.
