Hammond RL6685-F 200x150x100mm Gray Flanged ABS Project Enclosure

The RL6685-F is a light gray flanged shallow-lid ABS project enclosure from the RL Series, sized 200 x 150 x 100 mm (7.87 x 5.91 x 3.94 in). It is designed to house P.C. boards for hand-held use or wall mount, making it a practical choice for OEM engineers, electronics designers and integrators building compact control, sensing or interface assemblies. This version belongs to the series' Enclosures with Wall Mounting Flanges table; the drawing shows an overall length of 231.87 mm [9.13 in] across the flanges.

The enclosure is molded in general purpose ABS plastic with a light texture, flame rated UL94 HB. Construction is two-part: box and lid, and both halves include a smooth recessed area for a membrane, label or silkscreen. P.C. board standoffs are molded into both halves, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54.

Inside, the drawing gives 190.22 mm [7.49 in] length, 140.22 mm [5.52 in] width and 93.70 mm [3.69 in] height. The part page lists a maximum P.C. board size of 191.03 x 133.35 mm, while the series ordering table lists 189.46 x 133.35 mm for this size, so check your board against the drawing. The purchased assembly of the RL6685-F includes the box, lid, 4 PCB screws and 4 lid screws. The lid accepts M3 self-tapping screws and the PCB standoffs accept M2.6 self-tapping screws; recommended torque is (43-50) Ozf.in / (30-35) cN.m. Replacement packs are SC617-50 (M3 x 25 mm lid screws, 50 pkg) and SC519-50 (M2.6 x 6 mm PCB screws, 50 pkg). It is RoHS and REACH compliant, and the black equivalent is RL6685-FBK.

Enclosures can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing) and solid models are available in .stp or .x_t. Some chemicals can damage or weaken ABS, including acetone, thread-locking compounds and cutting or tapping fluid, so use only plastic-safe cleaners.
