Hammond RL6655-FBK 200x150x70mm Black Flanged ABS Project Enclosure

The RL6655-FBK is a black flanged shallow-lid ABS project enclosure from the RL Series, sized 200 x 150 x 70 mm (7.87 x 5.91 x 2.76 in). It is designed to house P.C. boards for hand-held use or wall mount, making it a practical choice for OEM engineers, electronics designers and integrators building compact control, sensing or interface assemblies. This version belongs to the series' Enclosures with Wall Mounting Flanges table; the drawing shows an overall length of 231.87 mm [9.13 in] across the flanges.

The enclosure is molded in general purpose ABS plastic with a light texture, flame rated UL94 HB. Construction is two-part: box and lid, and both halves include a smooth recessed area for a membrane, label or silkscreen. P.C. board standoffs are molded into both halves, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54.

Inside, the drawing gives 191.79 mm [7.55 in] length, 141.79 mm [5.58 in] width and 63.70 mm [2.51 in] height, and the maximum P.C. board size is 191.03 x 133.35 mm. Shipping weight is 0.75 lbs (0.34 kg).

The purchased assembly of the RL6655-FBK includes the box, lid, 4 PCB screws and 4 lid screws. The lid accepts M3 self-tapping screws and the PCB standoffs accept M2.6 self-tapping screws; recommended torque is (43-50) Ozf.in / (30-35) cN.m. Replacement packs are SC617-50 (M3 x 25 mm lid screws, 50 pkg) and SC519-50 (M2.6 x 6 mm PCB screws, 50 pkg). It is RoHS and REACH compliant, and the light grey equivalent is RL6655-F.

Enclosures can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing) and solid models are available in .stp or .x_t. Some chemicals can damage or weaken ABS, including acetone, thread-locking compounds and cutting or tapping fluid, so use only plastic-safe cleaners.
