Hammond RL6215-FBK 125x80x35mm Flanged Black ABS Project Enclosure

The RL6215-FBK is a 125 x 80 mm flanged ABS plastic project enclosure from the RL Series of shallow-lid boxes, designed to house P.C. boards for hand-held use or wall mount. It suits OEM engineers, electronics builders and integrators who need a wall-mountable black housing for a small circuit board assembly. It is the middle height of the three enclosures built on the 125 mm x 80 mm footprint (RL6205 at 25 mm, this 35 mm size, and RL6225 at 50 mm).

The enclosure is molded in black general purpose ABS plastic with a light texture and uses two-part construction. Both the box and the shallow lid carry a smooth recessed area for a membrane, label or silkscreen, and P.C. board standoffs are molded into both halves, with bosses that accept M2.6 self-tapping screws.

Nominal size is 4.92 in x 3.15 in x 1.38 in (125 mm x 80 mm x 35 mm), with inside dimensions of 119.60 mm [4.71 in] long, 74.60 mm [2.94 in] wide and 28.90 mm [1.14 in] high. It accepts a maximum P.C. board of 118.84 mm x 73.84 mm. Wall mounting flanges extend the overall length to 148.92 mm [5.86 in]. Shipping weight is 0.22 lbs (0.10 kg).

Each purchased assembly includes the box, lid, 4 PCB screws and 4 lid screws, and the recommended screw torque is (43-50) Ozf.in / (30-35) cN.m. The RL6215-FBK is designed to meet IP54, uses UL94 HB rated ABS, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Some chemicals can damage or weaken the plastic, including acetone, ketones, thread-locking compounds, cutting or tapping fluid and strong solvents, so use only plastic-safe cleaners. The enclosure can also be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing), and solid models are available in .stp or .x_t. The light gray counterpart of this flanged size is RL6215-F.
