The RIK19 is a rack ground isolation kit for standard 19 in mounting relay racks. It isolates an open-frame rack from conductive flooring so the rack does not create multiple ground paths, making it useful for IT, AV, broadcast and electrical installations where a single, controlled bonding point is required.
The kit contains two isolation pads and four isolation shoulder washers. The pads are constructed of glass-reinforced thermoset polyester (Glastic, red, not painted) and the washers are nylon, so both the rack feet and the mounting hardware are separated from the floor surface. Each pad is 0.06 in (2 mm) thick, with a nominal footprint of 20.00 in wide by 7.50 in deep (508 mm x 191 mm); the drawing shows an overall pad length of 20.19 in (513 mm). Shipping weight for the kit is 1.15 lbs (0.52 kg).
An open-ended pad design lets RIK19 be fitted to racks that are already in place, so retrofit work does not require the rack to be fully dismantled. The universal design works with most rack manufacturers and is listed for use with Hammond and Rack Basics part numbers RB-2P, RB-2PA, DNRRHDW, DNRRHDKB and DC4R; a separate Z4 version of the kit covers the seismic DRZ4 rack. The bolt-down C4K-Z4 kit is sold separately.
