The RIK23 Rack Isolation Kit isolates open-frame racks from conductive flooring so a rack does not create multiple ground paths. It is sized for standard 23 in mounting relay racks and is intended for IT, AV, broadcast and telecom installers, electricians and facilities teams who need a single, controlled bonding point for a floor-mounted rack.
Each kit contains two isolation pads and four isolation shoulder washers. The pads are constructed of glass-reinforced thermoset polyester (Glastic, red) and are not painted; the shoulder washers are nylon, isolating the mounting hardware from the rack base so the isolation path is not shorted out by the bolts themselves. The open-ended pad design allows retrofit installation under racks that are already in place.
RIK23 has a nominal size of 0.06 in x 24 in x 7.5 in (2 mm x 610 mm x 191 mm), with a pad thickness of 0.06 in (2 mm). The part drawing shows overall pad dimensions of 24.19 in (614 mm) with a 20.50 in (521 mm) hole pattern span and a 6.25 in (159 mm) depth reference. Shipping weight is 1.4 lbs (0.64 kg).
The universal design works with most rack manufacturers and is listed for use with Hammond and Rack Basics part numbers RB-2P, RB-2PA, DNRRHDW, DNRRHDKB and DC4R; a separate Z4 version of this kit is offered for seismic DRZ4 racks. A bolt-down C4K-Z4 kit is sold separately.
