The RH3051BK is the black, non-gasketed member of the RH Series hand-held enclosures with a battery door. It gives product designers and OEM engineers a ready-made ergonomic housing for a printed circuit board plus batteries, shaped for a comfortable fit in the hand.
It is molded in general purpose black ABS plastic with a UL94 HB flammability rating. Lap joint construction protects against dust accumulation and splashing water, and the part page lists an IP54 rating for this version. The top half includes a smooth recessed area for a membrane, keypad or label, and both halves have molded PCB standoffs that accept M2.6 self-tapping screws. The halves are assembled with M3 Philips self-tapping screws at a recommended torque of (43-50) Ozf.in / (30-35) cN.m.
Nominal size is 160 x 84 x 30 mm (6.3 x 3.3 x 1.2 in); the series table lists 160 x 85 x 30 mm. Board capacity is listed as 129.27 x 73.14 mm on the part page and 94.27 x 78.57 mm in the series table, so check the drawing against your board outline.
Each RH3051BK assembly includes the box, lid, 4 PCB screws, battery door and 4 cover screws. Replacement packs are SC616-50 (M3 x 20 mm cover screws), SC623-50 (M3 x 8 mm) and SC519-50 (PCB screws), with CP-001BK and CP-001G nylon belt clip kits available. It is REACH and RoHS compliant, bagged at 0.24 lbs (0.11 kg), and the light gray equivalent is RH3055.
