Hammond RH3011BK 130mm Black Hand-Held ABS Enclosure, Non-Gasketed

The RH3011BK is the black, non-gasketed version of the 130 mm RH Series hand-held enclosure with battery door. It measures 5.12 x 2.68 x 0.98 in (130 x 68 x 25 mm) and is rated IP54 on its part page, making it a lighter-duty option for OEM engineers building portable electronics that do not need the IP65 gasketed enclosure.

The RH3011BK is molded in a general purpose ABS plastic that carries a UL flammability rating of UL94 HB. It is ergonomically designed for a comfortable fit in the user's hand, and the top half has a smooth recessed area for membranes, keypads and labels. Both halves contain molded PC board standoffs that accept M2.6 self-tapping screws.

Without a gasket, it relies on lap joint construction, which provides protection against dust accumulation and splashing water. If full IP65 sealing is required, the gasketed black equivalent is the RH3001BK.

The series table lists 130 x 67.5 x 25 mm, matching the drawing's 130.00 x 67.50 x 25.00 mm overall. The maximum P.C. board size is 67.3 x 61.33 mm. The purchased assembly includes box, lid, 4 PCB screws, the battery door and 4 lid screws. It is assembled with M3 Philips self-tapping screws at a recommended torque of (43-50) ozf.in / (30-35) cN.m. Accessories listed on the drawing are SC616-50 cover screws, SC623-50 M3 x 8 mm screws, SC519-50 PCB screws and the CP-001BK or CP-001G nylon belt clip. The light grey version is the RH3015.

The enclosure can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing) and solid models are available in .stp or .x_t. It is RoHS and REACH compliant. Some chemicals, such as acetone, ketones and thread locking compounds, can damage or weaken the plastic.
