Hammond RH3005 130mm Light Grey IP65 Gasketed Hand-Held Enclosure

The RH3005 is the light grey, gasketed hand-held enclosure in the smaller 130 mm RH Series body, rated IP65. Measuring 5.12 x 2.68 x 0.98 in (130 x 68 x 25 mm), it gives product designers and OEM engineers a sealed, battery-door housing for portable electronics built around a printed circuit board.

The RH3005 is molded in a general purpose ABS plastic that carries a UL flammability rating of UL94 HB. It is ergonomically designed for a comfortable fit in the user's hand, and the top half has a smooth recessed area for membranes, keypads and labels. Both halves contain molded PC board standoffs that accept M2.6 self-tapping screws.

As the gasketed version, it has a factory-installed gasket around the top and bottom halves and around the battery door, plus O-rings on the battery door screws. The lap joint construction adds protection against dust accumulation and splashing water.

The series table lists 130 x 67.5 x 25 mm, and the drawing shows 130.00 x 67.50 x 25.00 mm overall. Boards up to 67.3 x 61.33 mm fit on the molded standoffs. The purchased assembly includes box, lid, 4 PCB screws, gasket, 4 O-rings, 2 battery door screws, the battery door and 4 lid screws. It is assembled with M3 Philips self-tapping screws at a recommended torque of (43-50) ozf.in / (30-35) cN.m. Listed accessories are the RH300 gasket set, SC620-50 cover screws, SC623-50 M3 x 8 mm screws, SC615-50 battery door screws, SC519-50 PCB screws and the CP-001 nylon belt clip kit. The black equivalent is the RH3001BK.

The enclosure can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing) and solid models are available in .stp or .x_t. It is RoHS and REACH compliant. Some chemicals, such as acetone, ketones and thread locking compounds, can damage or weaken the plastic.
