Hammond RCBS1900824BK1 5U Desktop Rack Cabinet, 24.5 in Deep, Black

The RCBS1900824BK1 is a 5U enclosed desktop rack cabinet for mounting 19-inch equipment in AV, studio, test and laboratory environments. It measures 10.75 in x 21 in x 24.5 in (273 mm x 533 mm x 622 mm) and suits bench-top and portable installations where equipment needs to be protected but floor space is limited.

Construction is 16-gauge welded steel with a 600 lb load rating, and the cabinet is fully enclosed with top, bottom and side panels. The finish is a RAL9005 black textured powder coat; Hammond states the black and light gray powder coat finishes are GREENGUARD, TSCA and RoHS compliant. The same cabinet is offered in RAL 7035 light gray as RCBS1900824LG1. Two black plastic handles are fitted for carrying between workstations, and four plug bumpers act as non-marking feet for stable desktop placement.

Mounting rails are fixed-depth and EIA-310 compliant, with 0.28 in (7 mm) round holes for 10-32 clip nuts. Usable mounting height is 8.75 in (222 mm) for 5 rack units, with a usable mounting depth of 23.88 in (607 mm); the drawing shows 23.76 in (604 mm) usable depth, a 19 in mounting width of 18.35 in (466 mm) and a 17.81 in (452 mm) opening. Rails are recessed at the front and rear to improve equipment clearance. Because the rails are fixed, RCBS1900824BK1 is best matched to fixed-depth equipment.
