Hammond RASV190107UBK1 1U Vented 7-Inch Deep Rack Shelf, 42 lb Load

The RASV190107UBK1 is a 1U vented universal rack shelf for standard 19-inch racks and cabinets, sized for shallow equipment that cannot be directly rack-mounted. With a 7.00 in (178 mm) shelf depth, it suits network appliances, small AV components, media devices, converters and similar boxes in IT rooms, network closets, broadcast racks and industrial control enclosures.

The shelf is formed from mild steel in a 16-gauge construction with a suggested load capacity of 42 lbs (19 kg); the series notes this product was tested to double the suggested load rating, and the part drawing lists a maximum weight of 40 lb. Stiffener lips are folded up at both the front and the back on this version, creating a raised edge on either side of the platform. The finish is a black textured powder coat, described by the manufacturer as GREENGUARD, TSCA and RoHS compliant.

Mounting dimensions are 1.75 in (44 mm) high by 19.30 in (490 mm) wide by 7.00 in (178 mm) deep, occupying 1U of rack space. The drawing shows a 19.01 in (483 mm) wide front panel 1.72 in (44 mm) high, a shelf platform 17.50 in (444 mm) wide, and four 0.25 x 0.38 in mounting slots spaced 18.32 in (465 mm) apart for EIA-compliant rack rails. The vented platform uses 0.24 x 1.50 in slots to allow airflow around supported equipment.

The universal design mounts to any standard EIA-compliant rack or cabinet and can be installed internally as a shelf or externally as a work surface. Mounting hardware is not supplied with the shelf. RASV190107UBK1 is made in Canada, is USMCA compliant, REACH and RoHS compliant, and is listed as TAA compliant. A solid (un-vented) equivalent of the same size is offered as RASU190107UBK1.
