Hammond PWS3502A230N4SS 6300W 230V Air/Water Heat Exchanger, 304 Stainless

The PWS3502A230N4SS is a PWS 3000 Series air/water heat exchanger that removes heat from a sealed enclosure by transferring it to a water source, delivering 21496 BTU/h (6300 W) of cooling with the enclosure at +95F (+35C) and water at +50F (+10C). It works with chilled water/glycol, tower water and other circulated coolants. With its 304 stainless steel case and Type 4/4X rating, this version is aimed at enclosures that are subject to frequent wash-down as well as high temperatures or harsh conditions.

The exterior case is 304 stainless steel, and the manufacturer lists this model as a Type 4/4X unit. Inside, a rugged copper tube / aluminum fin heat exchanger rated for 10 bar connects to the coolant loop through 1/2" barb fittings. An integrated thermostat and solenoid valve with alarm contact provide automatic temperature control; the control range is adjustable from +45 to +113 F (+10 to +50 C), with a factory setting of +95F (+35C). The design is low noise and maintenance-free.

The unit measures 57.09 in (1450 mm) high, 15.76 in (400 mm) wide and 8.60 in (218 mm) deep. It moves 690 CFM (1172 m³/h) of air and needs 2 GPM (450 L/h) of coolant at rated capacity, at an operating pressure of 14.5 - 145 PSI (1 - 10 bar). Ambient air temperature range is +36/140 F (+2/+60 C). This version is rated 230 V at 50/60 Hz, with 192 W power consumption and 0.98 A running current. Power connects to a terminal block.

Side, door or internal mounting gives installation flexibility. The PWS3502A230N4SS ships with a mounting cutout, manual and technical data sheet; the accessory pack typically includes sealing strips, threaded mounting studs, mounting hardware, a condensate hose and a door contact connector/jumper. The coolant must be at least 10 °C colder than the air entering the heat exchanger. The series carries UL, cUL and CE approvals, and the part is REACH and RoHS compliant.
