Hammond PWS31X2A460N4LG 10000W 400/460V Air/Water Heat Exchanger, Light Gray

The PWS31X2A460N4LG is a PWS 3000 Series air/water heat exchanger that removes heat from a sealed enclosure by transferring it to a water source, delivering 34121 BTU/h (10000 W) of cooling with the enclosure at +95F (+35C) and water at +50F (+10C). It works with chilled water/glycol, tower water and other circulated coolants. It is designed for panel builders and plant engineers cooling enclosures where ambient conditions involve high temperatures or harsh conditions, and this light gray version carries a Type 3R/4 rating.

The exterior case is galvanized steel finished in RAL7035 Light Gray, and the manufacturer describes this model as a Type 3R/4 unit. Inside, a rugged copper tube / aluminum fin heat exchanger rated for 10 bar connects to the coolant loop through 1/2" barb fittings. An integrated thermostat and solenoid valve with alarm contact provide automatic temperature control; the control range is adjustable from +46 to +122 F (+8 to +50 C), with a factory setting of +95F (+35C). The design is low noise and maintenance-free.

The unit measures 65.52 in (1664 mm) high, 19.75 in (502 mm) wide and 12.10 in (307 mm) deep. It moves 1180 CFM (2005 m³/h) of air and needs 5 GPM (1135 L/h) of coolant at rated capacity, at an operating pressure of 14.5 - 145 PSI (1 - 10 bar). Ambient air temperature range is +36/158 F (+2/+65 C). This version is rated 400/460 V at 50/60 Hz, with 150 W power consumption and 0.67 A running current. Power connects to a terminal block.

Side, door or internal mounting gives installation flexibility. The PWS31X2A460N4LG ships with a mounting cutout, manual and technical data sheet; the accessory pack typically includes sealing strips, threaded mounting studs, mounting hardware, a condensate hose and a door contact connector/jumper. The coolant must be at least 10 °C colder than the air entering the heat exchanger. The series carries UL, cUL and CE approvals, and the part is REACH and RoHS compliant.
