Hammond PKS3301A460LG 150 W/°C 400/460V Type 12 Air-to-Air Heat Exchanger

The PKS3301A460LG is a Type 12 closed loop air to air heat exchanger from the PKS12 Series, rated 150 W/°C (83 W/°F) and powered from a 400/460V supply at 50 or 60 Hz. It is the third capacity step in the series, designed for indoor applications and suited to dissipating heat from indoor switch cabinets.

An air to air heat exchanger is a fit when the surrounding air is at least 10°C/18°F cooler than the target internal temperature. Clean enclosure air is recirculated in a closed loop and never mixes with contaminated ambient air, and the series is described as more energy efficient with lower maintenance costs than air conditioners. At a 20°C/36°F difference between ambient and target internal temperature, the PKS3301A460LG shows a sample performance of 3000W (10200 BTU); actual cooling depends on that ΔT.

The ordering table gives 35.31 in (897 mm) high, 11.97 in (304 mm) wide and 10.65 in (271 mm) deep (nominal size 35 in x 12 in x 11 in (889 mm x 305 mm x 279 mm)). Shipping weight is 65 lbs (29.48 kg). The cover is finished in Light Gray (RAL7035) powder coated steel. The unit maintains the enclosure's NEMA 12 rating, is rated IP 54 and carries UR, cUR and CE marks, uses R134a refrigerant, and its EMI/RFI suppression meets CE.

For installation, a gasket, mounting kit and template for the cutout and drilling are included, and the unit can be mounted vertically or horizontally. The thermostat control is accessible from inside the enclosure, and a door contact provision powers the unit down when the enclosure door is opened. Remote door switches and gasket kits are available as accessories.
