Hammond PJU864WF 8x6x4 NEMA 4X Window Box, Lift-Off Cover, Flange

The PJU864WF is a 8 x 6 x 4 in Type 4X junction box molded from fiberglass reinforced polyester, fitted with a clear polycarbonate lift-off screw cover and a pair of mounting flanges. It is designed for use as an instrument enclosure, control housing, junction box or terminal wiring enclosure, and the clear cover shows the interior without opening the box. This version pairs the lift-off screw cover with mounting flanges; the equivalent with rear mounting feet is the PJU864W.

This is the smallest size in this group, an 8.05 in tall body taking a 6.75 x 4.88 in inner panel. The enclosure measures 8.05 in (204 mm) high, 6.27 in (159 mm) wide and 4.13 in (105 mm) deep (nominal 8 x 6 x 4 in), with a 0.13 in (3.30 mm) wall. Brass inserts accept the optional 6.75 in (171 mm) x 4.88 in (124 mm) inner panel 14R0705. Shipping weight is 4 lbs (1.81 kg).

The clear window cover lifts completely off the box and is held down by four stainless steel captive cover screws, threaded into #10-32 brass inserts. A closed cell neoprene gasket seals the cover, and the box and cover material is easily punched, cut or drilled. The light gray material has enhanced UV inhibitors, operates from -40°C to 130°C (-40°F to 266°F) and has an impact index of 6.78 J (5 ft/lb).

Two glued polycarbonate mounting flanges attach to the box with #10-32 brass inserts and stainless steel screws; the drawing shows an overall height of 9.63 in (244.59 mm) across the flanges, mounting spacing of 8.75 in (222.24 mm) min. to 8.88 in (225.54 mm) max. slot distance and (8) R0.155 in (R3.94 mm) slots. Mounting hardware is included.

The series is UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, and complies with the same NEMA types and IEC 60529 IP66. It is REACH and RoHS compliant and suits hose-down, very wet, high-temperature or highly corrosive locations.
