Hammond PJHMI88CCH 8x8 Clear Polycarbonate HMI Cover, Screw Closure

PJHMI88CCH is the 8x8 clear-cover HMI kit with screw closure, offering a 6.47 in x 6.69 in viewing area. It protects instruments or electronics that need routine attention while keeping them visible, and its drawing notes that it will fit Allied Moulded enclosures sizes 10x12 and larger.

The box and cover are injected polycarbonate, with an FIP (formed-in-place) polyurethane gasket and a 316 stainless steel hinge pin. Per the drawing, the cover closes with 316 stainless steel captive cover screws with O-rings into (2) #10-32 brass inserts. The series offers the clear polycarbonate thermoplastic cover version as PJHMI88CCH; the matching opaque cover version is PJHMI88H. It is UV stabilized for outdoor use and rated for a service temperature of -31°F (-35°C) to 266°F (130°C).

The frame measures 7.93 in (201 mm) H x 8.15 in (207 mm) W x 2.27 in (58 mm) D, with a viewing area of 6.47 in (164 mm) H x 6.69 in (170 mm) W; the nominal size is 8 in x 8 in x 2 in (203 mm x 203 mm x 51 mm). Installation needs a Phillips screwdriver or similar tool: mark and cut a panel opening of up to 6.47 in H x 6.69 in W, drill 7/32 or #2 (.220 dia) holes, and mount the kit with 8 fasteners. The supplied hardware suits mounting surfaces from .059 in to .250 in thick (the series is designed for wall thicknesses from 16 gauge through 1/4 in), torqued to 15-20 in-lbs. An optional prop arm, PJHMIPROP88, is available separately.

The PJHMI88CCH is a listed UL component (UL File E487574) for use with enclosures rated Types 1, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 or 13, and is CSA listed Type 1, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 or 13. It is REACH and RoHS compliant and ships at 2 lbs (0.91 kg).
