Hammond PJHMI86H 8x6 Opaque Polycarbonate HMI Cover, Screw Closure

The PJHMI86H is an 8x6 hinged HMI cover kit with a solid opaque polycarbonate cover and screw closure. It protects instruments or electronics that need routine access through an enclosure wall, for cases where the device behind the cover does not have to be visible.

The frame (WGF86) and standard cover are injected polycarbonate; the cover pivots on a 316 stainless steel hinge pin (70-HPIN8316) and seals on a formed-in-place (FIP) polyurethane gasket in a continuous channel. The cover closes with two NEMA cover mount 316 screws with O-rings that thread into #10-32 threaded inserts. The series offers the light gray solid opaque cover version as PJHMI86H; the matching clear cover version is PJHMI86CCH. It is UV stabilized for outdoor use and rated for a service temperature of -31°F (-35°C) to 266°F (130°C).

The frame measures 7.93 in (201 mm) H x 6.15 in (156 mm) W x 2.27 in (58 mm) D, with a viewing area of 6.47 in (164 mm) H x 4.69 in (119 mm) W; the nominal size is 8 in x 6 in x 2 in (203 mm x 152 mm x 51 mm). Installation needs a Phillips screwdriver or similar tool: mark and cut a panel opening of up to 6.47 in H x 4.69 in W, drill 7/32 or #2 (.220 dia) holes, and mount the kit with 8 fasteners. The supplied hardware suits mounting surfaces from .059 in to .250 in thick (the series is designed for wall thicknesses from 16 gauge through 1/4 in), torqued to 15-20 in-lbs. An optional prop arm, PJHMIPROP86, is available separately.

The PJHMI86H is a listed UL component (UL File E487574) for use with enclosures rated Types 1, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 or 13, and is CSA listed Type 1, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 or 13. It is REACH and RoHS compliant and ships at 2 lbs (0.91 kg).
