Hammond PJ864T 8x6x4 In Twist-Latch Hinged Type 4X Fiberglass Box

PJ864T is the twist latch version of the 8.00 x 6.12 x 4.13 in (203 x 155 x 105 mm) PJ Type 4X polyester junction box with continuous hinge door (nominal 8 x 6 x 4 in, 203 x 152 x 102 mm, on the part page). It is designed for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures that face wet, hose-down, hot or corrosive conditions.

The series specifies stainless steel butterfly type twist latch fasteners with padlocking provision; on the PJ864T drawing it is a single 316 stainless steel lockable twist latch located on center, on a 316 stainless steel hinge. Twist latch enclosures in the series are available with bonded polycarbonate viewing windows. A formed-in-place (FIP) polyurethane gasket seals the door, and the wall is 0.14 in (3.55 mm) thick.

The compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester box and cover are gray with enhanced UV inhibitors and can be punched, cut or drilled. Inside, four 10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws hold the optional 14R0705 inner panel, 6.75 x 4.88 in (171 x 124 mm), or a terminal kit. Back panels come in 0.100 in aluminum, 0.075 in white steel and galvannealed, or 0.125 in fiberglass.

Four 316 stainless steel feet with 316 stainless screws give 9.82 in (249.53 mm) overall and 0.34 in (8.74 mm) holes. Ratings: UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, IEC 60529 IP66, 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F) operation and a 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) impact index.
