The PJ864RW is a Type 4X fiberglass reinforced polyester junction box measuring 8.00 x 6.12 x 4.13 in (203 x 155 x 105 mm), fitted with a raised, lift-off cover that includes a bonded polycarbonate viewing window. It is intended for instrument enclosures, electrical junction boxes, terminal wiring and control housings for electric, hydraulic or pneumatic systems where equipment may be hosed down, stay very wet, run hot or face highly corrosive conditions.
The compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester box and cover have a gray finish with enhanced UV inhibitors for outdoor weathering and are easily punched, cut or drilled. According to the drawing the wall is 0.14 in (3.56 mm) thick. Four 316 stainless steel captive cover screws with retaining O-rings hold the lift-off cover in #10-32 brass inserts, and a captive, oil resistant FIP polyurethane gasket provides a positive seal.
Four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws accept the optional 14R0705 inner panel, 6.75 x 4.88 in (171 x 124 mm), available in white powder coated steel, unfinished aluminum or fiberglass, with hardware included. Four 316 stainless steel feet mount to rear brass inserts.
The PJ864RW is UL 508A listed Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, cUL listed to those types per CSA 22.2 No. 94, and complies with IEC 60529 IP66. Operating temperature is 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F) and impact index is 6.78 J (5 ft/lb). It is RoHS and REACH compliant with a 4 lbs (1.81 kg) shipping weight.
