The PJ864RH is an 8.00 x 6.12 x 4.13 in (203 x 155 x 105 mm) Type 4X junction box in fiberglass reinforced polyester with a raised, hinged solid cover. The hinge keeps the cover with the box during service, making it practical for junction boxes, terminal wiring enclosures, instrument enclosures and electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings that are hosed down, very wet, hot or in highly corrosive areas.
The box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester in gray with enhanced UV inhibitors for outdoor weathering, and are easily punched, cut or drilled. The drawing gives a 0.14 in (3.55 mm) wall. The cover pivots on a 316 stainless steel hinge (continuous, per the series) and closes with two 316 stainless steel captive cover screws with retaining O-rings in #10-32 brass inserts. A captive, oil resistant FIP polyurethane gasket seals it.

The PJ864RH is UL 508A listed Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, cUL listed to those types per CSA 22.2 No. 94, and complies with IEC 60529 IP66. It is rated for 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F), has a 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) impact index, is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships at 4 lbs (1.81 kg).
