Hammond PJ864HP6 6-Hole 30.5mm Hinged Fiberglass Pushbutton Box

The PJ864HP6 is a six-hole, 30.5mm pushbutton enclosure with a hinged screw cover, molded from gray fiberglass polyester. It belongs to the PJPBLC Series and is meant for engineers building multi-function operator stations for equipment that may be hosed down or be very wet, or for highly corrosive or high-temperature environments.

The box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester with a 0.14 in (3.56 mm) wall per the drawing, and the material is easily punched, cut, or drilled. Its drawing calls out 316 stainless steel for the hinge, the two captive cover screws (with retaining O-rings, in #10-32 brass inserts) and the four mounting feet and feet screws. The seal is a captive oil resistant gasket, shown as FIP polyurethane on the drawing. Enhanced UV inhibitors protect against outdoor weathering.

Enclosure dimensions are 8.00 in H x 6.12 in W x 4.13 in D (203 mm x 155 mm x 105 mm); the part page lists a nominal 8 x 6 x 4 in size. Shipping weight is 4 lbs (1.81 kg). Brass inserts inside accept the optional 14R0705 inner panel (6.75 in x 4.88 in) or a terminal kit. For a lift off cover, choose PJ864P6.

The series is listed to UL 508A and CSA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and complies with NEMA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529, IP66. Rated operating temperatures run from 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F), impact index 6.78J (5 ft/lb); RoHS and REACH compliant.
