The PJ24248RL is a square 24 x 24 x 8 PJ series enclosure with a solid raised lid, measuring 24.00 x 24.00 x 8.13 in (610 x 610 x 207 mm). It is aimed at panel builders and electricians who need a large non-metallic housing for control, instrument or terminal equipment in wet, hose-down, high-temperature or corrosive locations.
The box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester, gray, with enhanced UV inhibitors, and can be punched, cut or drilled. The drawing shows (2X) 316 stainless steel hinges, (4X) 316 stainless steel lockable snap latches and an FIP polyurethane gasket, with a .14 in (3.56 mm) wall. The draw-type latches provide for padlocking.
Per the series ordering table, this size uses the larger mounting foot. The drawing details:
- (4X) 316 stainless steel feet on 3/8-16 brass inserts with 316 stainless steel screws; Ø.56 in (14.30 mm) foot holes
- (6X) 3/8-16 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws for the optional 18P2121 inner panel, 21.00 x 21.00 in (533 x 533 mm)
- Optional back panel thicknesses: 0.100 in aluminum, 0.075 in white steel, 0.125 in fiberglass
The PJ24248RL is covered by UL 508A Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and cUL per CSA 22.2 No. 94, and complies with NEMA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. Operating temperature is 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F), impact index 6.78 J (5 ft/lb). It is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships at 26 lbs (11.79 kg).
