Hammond PJ24208RL 24x20x8 In Type 4X Solid Raised Lid Fiberglass Box

The PJ24208RL is a 24 x 20 x 8 PJ series enclosure with a solid raised lid, measuring 24.00 x 20.00 x 8.13 in (610 x 508 x 207 mm). It gives control panel builders a large non-metallic housing for control, instrument and terminal assemblies in locations that are hosed down, very wet, hot or highly corrosive.

Box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester with a gray finish and enhanced UV inhibitors for outdoor weathering; the material is easily punched, cut or drilled. At this size the hardware steps up: the drawing shows (2X) 316 stainless steel hinges carrying the cover and (4X) 316 stainless steel lockable snap latches pulling it onto an FIP polyurethane gasket. Wall thickness is .14 in (3.58 mm), and the latches include a provision for padlocking.

Mounting uses heavier 3/8"-16 threads:

• (6X) 3/8"-16 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws for the optional 18P2117 inner panel, 21.00 x 17.00 in (533 x 432 mm)
• Optional back panel thicknesses of 0.100 in aluminum, 0.105 in white steel and 0.250 in fiberglass
• (4X) 316 stainless steel feet on 3/8"-16 brass inserts with 316 stainless steel screws; Ø.56 in (14.30 mm) foot holes

The PJ24208RL is listed to UL 508A Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and cUL per CSA 22.2 No. 94, and complies with NEMA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. It operates from 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F) with a 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) impact index, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships at 24 lbs (10.89 kg).
