The PJ20168R is the 20.00 in H x 16.00 in W x 8.13 in D (508 x 406 x 207 mm) size of the PJ raised lid junction box, supplied with a lift-off solid cover. It offers space for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, junction boxes and terminal wiring in locations that may be hosed down, very wet, hot or corrosive.
Box and matching cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester, gray, with enhanced UV inhibitors against outdoor weathering. The drawing shows a 0.14 in (3.56 mm) wall that is easily punched, cut or drilled. Impact index is 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) and the operating range is 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F).
Four 316 stainless steel captive cover screws with retaining O-rings fasten into #10-32 brass inserts, compressing a captive oil resistant FIP polyurethane gasket. The PJ20168R is UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, complies with IEC 60529 IP66, and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
Four 316 stainless steel feet mount at the rear via #10-32 brass inserts. Internally, brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws take the optional P2068 inner panel, 18.44 x 14.44 in (468 x 367 mm); the drawing lists back panel options of 0.100 in aluminum, 0.075 in white steel and galvannealed, and 0.250 in fiberglass. Shipping weight is 17 lbs (7.71 kg).
