The PJ18168TW is an 18 x 16 x 8 PJ Series fiberglass polyester enclosure with a hinged polycarbonate window cover closed by two lockable twist latches. It is built for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings and terminal wiring in wet, hot or corrosive locations.
Per the drawing, the cover uses two 316 stainless steel lockable twist latches and a 316 stainless steel hinge, sealing on a FIP polyurethane gasket. Walls are 0.14 in (3.57 mm) thick. The box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester with a gray finish and enhanced UV inhibitors for outdoor weathering.
The enclosure is 18.40 in H x 16.40 in W x 8.13 in D (467 x 417 x 207 mm) and ships at 16 lbs (7.26 kg). The optional P1868 inner panel (16.88 x 14.88 in) mounts on #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws; back panels are drawn in 0.100 in aluminum, 0.075 in white steel and galvannealed, and 0.250 in fiberglass.
Four 316 stainless steel feet fasten to rear brass inserts. The series is listed to UL 508A Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and cUL per CSA 22.2 No. 94, complies with IEC 60529 IP66, and has a 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) impact index. PJ18168TW is RoHS and REACH compliant.
