The PJ18168RL is an 18 x 16 x 8 PJ series enclosure with a solid raised lid, sized at 18.40 x 16.40 x 8.13 in (467 x 417 x 207 mm). It is built for control panels, terminal wiring and instrument housings that must hold up to hose-down, standing moisture, high temperatures or corrosive atmospheres.
The box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester, gray, with enhanced UV inhibitors against outdoor weathering, and can be punched, cut or drilled. On this size the drawing specifies a 316 stainless steel hinge, (2X) 316 stainless steel lockable snap latches and an FIP polyurethane gasket, with a .14 in (3.57 mm) wall. Latches include a padlock provision.
The optional inner panel for this size is P1868, 16.88 x 14.88 in (429 x 378 mm), mounted on four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws. The drawing lists optional back panel thicknesses of 0.100 in aluminum, 0.075 in white steel and galvannealed, and 0.250 in fiberglass. Four 316 stainless steel feet attach to the rear on #10-32 brass inserts with 316 stainless steel screws, with .34 in (8.74 mm) foot holes.
The PJ18168RL is listed to UL 508A Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and cUL per CSA 22.2 No. 94, and complies with NEMA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66.
