Hammond PJ1084R 10 x 8 x 4 in Raised Lift-Off Cover Junction Box

The PJ1084R is a Type 4X fiberglass reinforced polyester junction box sized 10.13 x 8.26 x 4.13 in (257 x 210 x 105 mm), with a raised lift-off solid cover. It is the solid lift-off version in its size and is marked in the series table as meeting Type 6P. Typical uses are instrument enclosures, electrical junction boxes, terminal wiring enclosures and electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings in wet, washdown, high-temperature or highly corrosive environments.

Box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester in a gray finish with enhanced UV inhibitors for outdoor weathering, and the material is easily punched, cut or drilled. Four stainless steel captive cover screws with retaining O-rings fasten the cover into #10-32 brass inserts. The drawing specifies a closed cell neoprene gasket, which the series describes as captive and oil resistant.

Inside, four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws hold the optional 14R0907 inner panel, 8.75 x 6.88 in (222 x 175 mm), available in white powder coated steel, unfinished aluminum or fiberglass; mounting hardware is included. Four stainless steel mounting feet attach to rear brass inserts for wall mounting.

The PJ1084R is UL 508A listed Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, cUL listed to the same types per CSA 22.2 No. 94, and complies with IEC 60529 IP66. It is rated for 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F), has an impact index of 6.78 J (5 ft/lb), is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships at 5 lbs (2.27 kg).
