Hammond PCJ181610F 18x16x10 Polycarbonate Junction Box, Flange Mount

The PCJ181610F is a Type 4X polycarbonate junction box with a solid lift-off screw cover and polycarbonate mounting flanges. At a nominal 18 x 16 x 10 in (457 x 406 x 254 mm), it is one of the larger sizes in the PCJ Series and is designed to insulate and protect controls and components in both indoor and outdoor conditions, from industrial pump controls and waste water to irrigation, solar/wind and chemical plant installations.

The box and cover are injection moulded polycarbonate thermoplastic in a light gray finish, with enhanced UV inhibitors against outdoor weathering. The material is easily punched, cut or drilled for conduit entries and devices. The lift-off cover is held by four #10-32 brass inserts with stainless steel captive cover screws fitted with retaining O-rings, and a FIP polyurethane foam gasket seals the opening.

Measured enclosure dimensions are 18.04 in H x 16.04 in W x 9.81 in D (458 x 407 x 249 mm). The optional inner panel for this size is P1868, measuring 16.88 x 14.88 in (429 x 378 mm); the drawing lists back panel versions in 0.100 in aluminum and 0.075 in painted steel, retained on four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws.

For mounting, the PCJ181610F uses four polycarbonate flanges fixed with six #10-32 brass inserts and stainless steel screws. The series is rated UL 508A and cUL Type 1, 2, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, complies with IEC 60529 IP66, carries a UL 94 V-0 flammability rating and a UL746C f1 UV rating, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Shipping weight is 10 lbs (4.54 kg).
