Hammond PCJ1084HF 10x8x4 Type 4X Polycarbonate Box, Solid Cover, Flange

The PCJ1084HF is a 10 x 8 x 4 in Type 4X polycarbonate junction box with a solid, hinged screw cover and polycarbonate flanges. Body and cover are injected polycarbonate in a light gray finish, giving a non-metallic housing designed to insulate and protect controls and components in both indoor and outdoor conditions. Typical duty includes industrial pump controls, waste water and irrigation control, plus solar/wind and chemical plant installations.

The 10 x 8 x 4 in body measures 9.93 in (252 mm) high, 8.15 in (207 mm) wide and 3.98 in (101 mm) deep, a mid-depth option between the 2 in and 6 in versions of the same footprint. The optional PCJR0907 inner panel, 8.75 in x 6.88 in (222 mm x 175 mm), fixes to four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel truss screws and is drawn in 0.100 in (2.54 mm) aluminum or 0.075 in (1.91 mm) white steel. A closed cell neoprene gasket seals the cover, which hinges on a stainless steel pin and fastens with two stainless steel captive cover screws.

The PCJ1084HF mounts through four polycarbonate flanges (glued), with four .34 in (8.65 mm) mounting holes at 10.75 in (273.04 mm) by 6.00 in (152.40 mm) centers. Flange screws thread into #10-32 brass inserts (stainless steel flange and feet screws), and mounting hardware is included.

Across the PCJ series the enclosure is UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) listed as Type 1, 2, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, complies with the same NEMA Types, and is rated IP66 per IEC 60529, V-0 per UL 94 and UV (f1) per UL746C. It operates from -35°C to 130°C (-31°F to 266°F), has a 16 J (12 ft/lb) impact index, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Shipping weight is 5 lbs (2.27 kg).
